Guangzhou IRD Medicine Co. Ltd is an enterprise founded with research outcomes transferred from GuangZhou Institute of Respiratory Disease and State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, and an enterprise introduced with one of the ten major scientific and technological projects from Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The company is developed by relying on resources and research conditions of Guangzhou Medical College and affiliated hospital, GuangZhou Institute of Respiratory Disease, State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, clinical trial, drug clinical laboratory base, and National Major Lab, which the Company, headed by Academician Mr. Nanshan Zhong as President of the company, has the registered asset of 50M Yuan with its business focusing on R&D of medical technology and its products, production and marketing, technology transferring, R&D of medicines and clinical trial and laboratory techniques as well as services and investment management, and so forth. 

As approved, Guangdong R&D Center for Respiratory Medical Engineering has been set up on the company basis, and Joint R&D Center for Respiratory Diseases is set up in collaboration with SCCIP and Macau University of Science and Technology. A team led by Professor Rong Zhou entered the SCCIP accelerator base in September 2010 to participate in some R&D activity.

In addition, the construction of the industrial park with a total floor space of 20,000 square meters has been initiated in the Independent Innovation Park, Science Town of Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, with the total investment of over 100M Yuan, including the center laboratory, pilot workshop, production workshop, quality inspeciton department and integrated office building.
